LTR and Maslow

The basic LTR model follows a similar thinking as Abraham Maslow Hierarchy of Needs. Maslow's theory assumes that people have many needs that compete for expression. He proposed that human motives are organized hierarchically. His Hierarchy of Needs is a systematic arrangement of needs according to priority, which assumes that the basic needs must be met before less basic needs are aroused. This hierarchical arrangement is usually portrayed as a pyramid. The needs at the bottom are the most basic.

Logo LTR ModelAlthough the basic LTR model follows a similar thinking as Maslow, the order is differently than Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. The "L" and "T" are in the opposite order of the"Safety Needs" and "Belonging Needs".

Maslow stipulates the "self" as the centre of Being. Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs depicts a human's self-centered path towards level 5, which in the Hierarchy is seen as the highest achievable for a human being. Different than Maslow's thinking the LTR Relationship Model sees "self-actualization" as a result of engagement with the environment and with other people. Ultimately, the LTR Relationship Model states that a balance among "Me", "You", "Environment" and Love, Trust and Respect within the "Me" and "You" is the highest achievable.
